It is important to keep your flower fresh. We searched for the best humidity control and container as flower is delicate and will loose or gain moisture over time. Cannabis flower likes a consistence moisture content for the best experience. This allows for optimal preservation of the cannabinoids and terpenes (the stuff you want!) When we, Artistic Organics, buy flower we require our growers to include Boveda packs to maintain the optimal moisture content.
We love the CVault to preserve your flower in an airtight humidity controlled environment. Each CVault is made of 304 food-grade stainless steel and built to last. It has side clips and a seal to ensure your flower is out of the light and in a moisture controlled environment.
Boveda is a 2 way moisture packet that enables the container to preserve your flower and keep it fresh and perfect for your use. It comes in different moisture levels. Clients who like to roll their flower tend to like a bit more moisture at 62%. This allows the hand-roll to burn slower and helps prevent uneven burning. It also makes the flower feel a bit more ‘sticky’ so it compacts and rolls well. Our Atmos Jump Pen clients tend to like a bit drier flower at 58%. This moisture level allows the flower to roast evenly in the pen.
Both percentage levels of 58% and 62% are optimal for flower. It just depends upon your preference. In both cases, just put the pack in with your flower. Over a few days it evens out the moisture content by either absorbing moisture or releasing it. It also seals in the smell, so many customers notice a reduction in the smell of their flower, but when you break open/grind a bud the smell is released. This is what you want!
We are excited to not only include a Boveda pack with our flower, but also offer the CVault for storage. Boveda comes in 2 sizes; an 8 gram and a 4 gram size. The more packs you put in with your flower the longer it lasts. Typically the 4 gram is used to keep 1/2 oz (14 grams) of flower. The 8 gram is used for 1 oz (28 grams) of flower. Depending upon your environment and how well your container is sealed and how often it is opened, one Boveda pack lasts 2-4 months. You will know when it expires because hard lumps will form, that feel like sand, and the liquid feel of the pack will disappear.
Boveda packs are the little gems we look for in the CBD cannabis world. They make a big difference in the life of your flower. They are inexpensive and make a big difference in your smoking enjoyment!
